This seminar aims to scrutinize physical activity prevalence of different social, gender and age groups [descriptive]. Moreover, we should take a closer look at the methodology of physical activity level measurements and their benefits and limitations. This will lead us to determinants of becoming physically active [explanatory] and existing models and theories that try to explain why people are physically (in)active [theoretical]. Based on this knowledge, we will examine and discuss potential physical activity, exercise and sport interventions, including individual, infrastructural and policy components. In the end, we summarize all findings and identify remaining research questions and actions for the future [call for action].
