In the Global Age, at the latest by the 21st century, the German-speaking and European theology is challenged to consider itself in the horizon of a world Christianity, a "culturally polycentric world church" (see Metz 1997), and in the discussion of other world religions and their theologies.In addition, theologies, religions and cultures are increasingly challenged by the globalization and global migration, hence need to strive for a mutual understanding and interpretation of the religious and theological others through encounters, dialogue and concrete intercultural and interreligious learning.
The lecture introduces interdependent theories and interreligious studies, with a focus on: Christian theologies in non-European cultures; Comparative and interreligious theology; Religions and intercultural conflicts.
Die deutschsprachige und europäische Theologie ist im globalen Zeitalter spätestens mit dem 21.Jahrhundert herausgefordert, sich im Horizont eines weltweiten Christentums (World Christianity), einer „kulturell polyzentrischen Weltkirche” (vgl. Metz 1997), sowie in Auseinandersetzung mit anderen Weltreligionen und ihren Theologien zu verstehen. Hinzu kommen Globalisierung und weltweite Migration, angesichts dessen Theologien, Religionen und Kulturen heute mehr denn je herausgefordert sind, sich in Begegnung, Dialog und konkretem interkulturellen und interreligiösen Lernen um wechselseitiges Verstehen und eine Interpretation des religiös und theologisch Anderen zu bemühen.
Die Vorlesung führt in Entdeckungszusammenhänge und Ansätze interkultureller Theologie und interreligiöser Studien ein, mit Fokus auf: Christliche Theologien in außereuropäischen Kulturen; Komparative und interreligiöse Theologie; Religionen und interkulturelle Konflikte.
