Terms of Usage for the HPC systems

  1. Allowed are members of the university and the research facilities of the UK Münster.
  2. To use the HPC systems, the membership in the group u0clstr is required. You can register yourself in the "IT-Portal" for this group. The duration of the membership is limited to two years, but can be extended before ending by the user. The membership in u0clstr end automatically, if the account expires.
  3. There is no quota for stored data. Nevertheless, users are asked, no to use more disk space than needed for their actual computations. If asked for, the users have to clean up their data immediately. It is recommended, to have sufficient backup media (for example external USB disks). There is no long-term archive of the data.
  4. After the expiration of the user account, the user data will be deleted after a certain time.
  5. Compute intensive jobs may only be started in the batch system. Processes that endanger the stability of the system can be killed without warning.
  6. The HPC systems are only intended for education and research. It is not allowed to store e.g. backups of other systems on the file system
  7. In case of repeated abuse, users can be banished from the systems.
