WP 1: 

In light of the rapid pace of technological development, it is essential to assess the current state of AI technology, particularly with regard to the conception of self-explaining artificial intelligence (explainable AI = XAI) as well as the detection of deepfakes. On the one hand, the aim is to determine which technically feasible methodology is most capable of meeting the specific requirements of use by practitioners in everyday judicial practice. On the other hand, foreseeable medium-term advances in AI and XAI are discussed in order to conduct further research on this basis in a future-proof manner.
