Caamaño, a tiny piece of rock in the Eastern Pacific, just a short boat ride from Puerto Ayora, Isla Santa Cruz in the Galápagos archipelago. Although small, this piece of land is inhabited by various animal species, such as a healthy breeding colony of blue-footed boobies (Sula nebouxii), mighty frigatebirds (Fregata magnificens) and marine iguanas (Amblyrhynchus cristatus) that irrevocably makes you think of Godzilla.

The Labour Day holidays I was travelling to Montenegro to see my friends. We went for a beautiful walk near Tivat with a stunning view of Kotor bay. The kids were playing around, picking up stones and showing us all the creatures they would come across. Under one stone they found something they didn’t know until I started screaming “Termites! Termites in Montenegro!!!”.

Travelling multiple times with different fundings

In May 2023 I went to Prague for the fourth time during my PhD. Even though I really enjoyed my time there and met some great people, I hoped this had been my last visit (for PhD purposes).
