Synodalität und communio – Aspekte für ein europäisches Miteinander in der Kirche

Abstract

Der Beitrag bespricht Genese und Diskurs einer Theologie der communio, die in den 1990er-Jahren als methodische Lösung für einen zeitsensiblen Zugang zur Welt eingeschätzt wurde und aufgrund eines Auslegungsstreites im deutschsprachigen Raum in der Rezeption ein vielfaches Ende erfuhr. Angesichts der theologischen Herausforderungen an eine Synode, wird der Mehrwert von communio-Theologien für Synodalität vorgestellt und anhand des Stellenwertes in den Synoden Mittel- und Osteuropas für die weltkirchliche Synodalität eingeschätzt.

The article discusses the genesis and discourse of a theology of communion, which in the 1990s was seen as a methodological solution for a contemporary approach to the world and, due to an interpretive dispute in the German-speaking area, experienced a mixed reception. In view of the theological challenges to a synod, the added value of communio theologies for synodality is presented and assessed on the basis of their significance for the synodality of the universal church in the synods of Central and Eastern Europe.
