JeremyDavis PhD Student Jeremy studied chemistry at Heidelberg University and received his BSc in the group of Lutz Greb. During his Bachelor studies, he worked on photoswitchable boron Lewis acids. In October 2024, he started his Master studies at University of Münster. He joined the Szych group for an internship on phosphane ligands and completed his MSc thesis on reactive bisphosphanes in September 2026 within the group. Since October 2026, he works as a PhD student, focusing on the incorporation of phosphorus(III) building blocks into polymeric architectures.
Dr.CijamMoschref PostDoc Cijam studied chemistry at the University of Münster, where he obtained his B.Sc. in the research group of Prof. F. E. Hahn with a thesis on metal complexes bearing phosphine-substituted NHC ligands. He remained at the University of Münster for his master’s studies and completed his M.Sc. thesis under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Jens Müller in bioinorganic chemistry, focusing on sulfur-containing nucleoside analogues for metal-mediated base pairs. He pursued his doctoral studies in the research group of Dr. Felicitas Lips, focusing on low-valent molecular silicon chemistry. During this time he was funded by IRTG2027 and worked as visiting scientists in the group of Prof. Douglas Stephan at the University of Toronto, Canada , focusing on frustrated lewis pairs chemistry on acyclic silylenes and transition metal free fischer-tropsch-chemistry.
M. Sc.LeoSteffen PhD student Leo studied chemistry at the Free University of Berlin and received his BSc in the group of Sebastian Hasenstab-Riedel. During his Bachelor studies, he worked on polyhalogenides and fluorinated compounds. He completed his MSc on phosphabaralenes in 2025 under the supervision of Christian Müller. Since October 2025, he works as a PhD student at the University of Münster supported by a Kekulé Fellowship. His research focuses on heavier ketyl radical anions and their application in the activation of small molecules.
M. Sc.KristinWulff PhD student Kristin studied chemistry at the Ruhr-University Bochum and received her BSc in 2023 in the group of Viktoria Däschlein-Gessner. During her Bachelor studies Kristin worked on the synthesis of phosphorus compounds under inert conditions. In October 2023 she started her Master studies at the Ruhr-University Bochum and joined the Eckhardt-lab. In September 2025 she finished her Master thesis within the Group. In November she started her PhD in a joint project with Szych group in Münster.
B. Sc.BenediktAlbach Student Research Assistant Benedikt studied chemistry at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg, where he received his B.Sc. in 2025. For his bachelor's thesis in the group of Thomas Müller, he worked on the synthesis and analysis of NHC–aluminium adducts. He then moved to the University of Münster for his master's studies and joined the Szych group in 2026. His research focuses on the activation of small molecules.
CharlotteSchlebusch Student Charlotte studied chemistry at the University of Münster and received her BSc in the group of Line Næsborg. During her Bachelor studies, she worked on catalyst-free photo-induced Diels-Alder reactions. In April 2025, she started her Master studies at the University of Münster. She joined the Szych Group for a research internship in early 2026. Her research focuses on the investigation of potassium phosphino phosphides and their reactivity towards small molecules.
HendrikWellmann Student Research Assistant Currently, Hendrik is working as a student assistant in the group. His project focusses on reactions yielding thioesters and thioketones.
