In the Paulinum-School, a volleyball team was created in 1961. In 1965, the male athletes achieved the German championship which was followed by 26 other successes by men and women. All in all, the women won 7 championships, 9 cups from the DVV and 4 European Championships. The men were also very successful and won the championship eight times in a row (from 1965-1972) and once the national cup.
