Workshop: Interdisciplinary case study on sustainability

The implementation of sustainability is a topic not only brought into focus by social and political actors but increasingly by economic actors as well. The question of the actual understanding and significance of sustainability can only be answered on a case-by-case basis. An excursion organized by the Career Service to the ATLANTA Group in Wesel offers a chance to do so. The company is a producer in the field of specialty chemistry and considers sustainability as a main factor for creating value in economic activity, understanding it as a “triad of economy, ecology and social factors”. The excursion provides an opportunity for participants to learn more about the subject of sustainability and to get to know the site on the ground from an inside perspective. Furthermore, participants will gain insights on entry and career possibilities in the ATLANTA Group and have the opportunity to contribute their own ideas on the company’s sustainability activities.
The excursion takes place on Monday, 6th November 2017, 10am to 16:30pm. A preparatory Workshop on 3rd November, 10am to 16:30pm offers an entry point to the subject. The excursion addresses students, PhD students and Alumni of all faculties that are interested in sustainability strategies, public relations and/or a career in a chemical group.
