After 2014 in Münster, this year Aachen turned into the meeting place of the international battery world: On April 28 and 29, the Institute for Power Electronics and Electrical Drives (ISEA) at RWTH Aachen University and the Haus der Technik staged the conference “Advanced Battery Power – Automotive and Energy Supply Solutions” at the convention center Eurogress Aachen. MEET, as co-organizer was represented by numerous contributions.

With more than 70 lectures and over 170 scientific posters submitted by participants from all over the world, visitors could expect a top-class and varied program. Besides presentations of the latest research results and current developments in any realm of the electrochemical energy storage; batteries, their production, charging, application, system integration etc. the opportunity was given to engage in an interdisciplinary dialogue with scientists, developers and engineers.

One day before, on March 27, “Battery Day NRW” took place under the patronage of Svenja Schulze, the Minister for Innovation, Science and Research of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW). It focused on activities in the battery sector across the federal state. At the end of Battery Day NRW and of the second conference day of Advanced Battery Power, participants had the opportunity to visit the ISEA institute at RWTH Aachen University.
