Visiting PhD student Miriam Kroman Brems from Denmark for five months at the Department of Communication Studies

(21.02.2023) Miriam Kroman Brems from the Danish University of Aarhus (AU) will be a visiting PhD student at the Department of Communication Studies from February until June. She will collaborate with the research group for online communication led by Prof. Dr. Thorsten Quandt and give a guest lecture on alternative media.

Miriam Kroman Brems is a PhD student at the Department of Media and Journalism Studies at Aarhus University, Denmark. In her PhD project, she investigates how users of alternative media combine alternative and mainstream news content, and what effects exposure to alternative news content has on levels of media- and political trust, populist attitudes, and political polarization, focusing on the case of Denmark. During her stay at WWU Münster, Miriam Kroman Brems will engage with Prof. Dr. Thorsten Quandt’s research on digitized public spheres and hybrid disinformation online. During her stay, she will also give a guest lecture on alternative media.
