I will discuss a conjecture describing the space of invariant distributions on a p-adic group G(F) in terms of Langlands parameters and relating such distributions to l-adic sheaves on the loop group. The speaker's work with Varshavsky and ongoing work with Ciubotaru, Kazhdan and Varshavsky establishes this picture in some cases (depth 0 and F of positive characteristic).
