Focus on knowledge transfer in sports education

The 35th annual conference of the dvs section of sports education from June 16-18 in Münster focused on the topic "Knowledge transfer - a central theme of sports education". The diverse program offered the approximately 300 conference participants various formats around the conference topic. Within the framework of three main lectures, Prof. Dr. Susanne Prediger spoke about the transfer of subject didactic approaches, Prof. Dr. Michael Pfitzner about the transfer in sports education, and Prof. Dr. Miriam Kehne and Prof. Dr. Alfred Richartz about the transfer of sports education in extracurricular fields of practice. With the aim of an exchange between science and practice, four dialog forums dealt with digital transfer formats in sports as well as transfer potentials in the practical semester, in children's and youth sports and in the field of learning and movement. In addition to these formats, there were a total of 76 lectures and 29 poster presentations.
As part of an educational policy evening, guests from academia, politics, publishing and sports organizations discussed knowledge transfer in sports in a casual talk format. This included aspects such as research and transfer projects, continuing education, publication culture and policy advice. The event was framed by movement interludes by WWU students and musical accompaniment. A special highlight of the conference program was the Sports Science Forum, which was organized and held together with the asp conference taking place at the same time in Münster. In this exchange format, representatives from science, politics, school and extracurricular practice discussed the potential of movement for cognitive development and school learning in childhood and adolescence. The patron of this forum was Ms. Judith Pirscher, State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
Prior to the main conference, a young researchers' conference was held with about 50 participants*. In addition to the discussion of qualification projects, a writing workshop and information on the personnel structure at universities were offered. The social highlight was a joint bike tour with colleagues from the asp and a lecture by Prof. Dr. Tim Bindel on science communication. All in all, the SportCampus Münster as venue, the social program and the fantastic weather of both conferences offered numerous opportunities for the long-lost professional and personal exchange. While the junior conference spent its evening at the Aasee in Münster with a burger buffet, the first evening of the main conference ended with food trucks, fire bowls and live music at the campus, while the second evening was an informal get-together at the Münster Hafenkäserei.
