Ethnobotany

A couple of pharmaceutical firms from Germany, Switzerland and South Africa, the Botany Department of the University of Durban-Westville (South Africa), the Institute of Ecology, WWU Münster and two farmers in South Africa built up a partnership to cooperate in the field of ethnobotany. The aim of this partnership is to guarantee the sustainable use of medicinal plants in a consistently high quality, to preserve the genetic resources of the plants used and to provide labour for the indigenous population in the southern Kalahari (South Africa).
