The Interdisciplinary Center for Mathematical Modeling of Infectious Disease Dynamics at the University of Münster (IMMIDD) invites you to save the date for the symposium:

From (One Health) Model to Message – Communicating Risk and Uncertainty in Scientific Results
9–10 March 2027
Münster Castle, University of Münster, Germany

The symposium focuses on the journey from scientific models to messages that inform public understanding and decision-making. Scientific models can provide valuable insights into risks across human, animal, and environmental health. But how can such complex concepts and findings be translated into messages that different audiences can understand and use? And how can uncertainty be communicated openly without undermining trust? The symposium will explore these questions from the perspectives of infectious disease modelling, One Health, public health authorities, clinical practice, science communication, and journalism.

The main programme will run from early Tuesday afternoon until Wednesday lunchtime, with a networking reception on Tuesday evening. An Early-Career Communication Hackathon will follow on Wednesday afternoon.

Language: English
Format: Hybrid main programme; hackathon in person
Participation: Free of charge

Further information about the programme and registration will follow.
