Institute of German Language and Literature

With 18 professorships and more than 100 faculty members, the Department of German Studies at the University of Münster is one of the largest of its kind worldwide. Based in the historic Vom-Stein-Haus, it is home to around 4,400 students across fifteen bachelor’s and master’s degree programs.

Organized into five departments, German Studies at Münster encompasses the full spectrum of the discipline, offering exceptional breadth and diversity in both research and teaching.
