Abstract of Research Project

The Fujiwara-Moritani reaction is a very important Pd(II)-catalyzed C–C bond forming reaction. Recent progress in C–H bond activation regained the attention on Fujiwara-Moritani reaction. Conversely, enantioselective variants of this reaction are underdeveloped.

The catalytic asymmetric Fujiwara-Moritani reaction for the annulation of indole and pyrrole will generate a stereogenic quarternary carbon center. Our main aim is to develop novel ligands for good enantiomeric excesses and to apply this method in natural product synthesis.
