Title: Nitrogen-containing Intermediates in the Synthesis of New Five-membered Heterocyclic Systems

Abstract of Research Project

A new research in the field of synthesis of nitrogen containing heterocycles and their intermediates - aza-polyenyl cations - is proposed.
The main aim of my PhD thesis is broadening the scope of the applications of Aza-Nazarov cyclization reactions involving conjugated α- and γ-imino aldehydes and ketones. Furthermore, systems containing more than one nitrogen atom, giving possibility to offer variety of different heterocycles, will be investigated.
It’s also planed to carry out quantum-mechanical calculations on the investigated systems, in order to obtain useful information about important reaction intermediates and products.
