Motivation

"When I was a child, I once watched a movie in which a person lay down in a tube and was instantly told all of their current and future illnesses and ailments. To me, that felt like the holy grail of science, and I was determined to invent it myself. Unfortunately, reality caught up with me sooner than I would have liked, and I realized that it’s far more complex than I had imagined.

While synthetic biology and iGEM may not enable me to build that magical tube, they do allow me to contribute a small but meaningful piece toward something similar—or something equally impactful. My commitment to iGEM stems from the belief that groundbreaking innovations in synthetic biology are inseparably linked to interdisciplinary collaboration and strong engagement with society.

This project offers me a unique opportunity to take on responsibility beyond the standard academic curriculum. In addition to deepening my methodological skills in the lab, I particularly value the development of essential soft skills and the opportunity to build an international network within the biotech community."
