Advantages and areas of application
of the IR converter

Some of the advantages of the IR converter are:

  • Spectral sensitivity in the range of 1.1 to 11 µm,
  • minimal detective temperature is 50°C,
  • high temporal resolution - down to ns - depending on applications,
  • spatial resolution up to 8 line pairs per mm,
  • low-priced set-up.

As a result of this the IR converter can be used in the following applications fields:

  • Fast spatial resolved thermography,
  • analysis of IR laser beam profiles,
  • nondestructive testing,
  • inspection of combustion processes,
  • monitoring of laser beam welding,
  • shock wave experiments.
