The ZIN’s open lecture series 2023 starts in April and focusses on "Conflicts about Sustainability

Students and interested citizens are cordially invited to attend the ZIN’s open lecture series “Brotzeitkolloquium” in the summer term of 2023. This semester, the speakers will address various "Conflicts about Sustainability" by talking about insect extinction, digitalization and species protection – just to name a few examples.

Since the summer semester 2016, ZIN has been organizing the so-called "Brotzeitkolloquium", a series of lectures inspired by the American brown bag lunches. In the summer semester 2023, the successful event series will now take place for the ninth time.

All of the speakers are ZIN members, who highlight various aspects of the overarching topic "Conflicts about Sustainability" from the perspective their respective discipline, be it political science, computer science or law. All students studying at the University of Münster as well as the interested public are invited, the lectures do not presuppose any prior knowledge. The five lectures will take place throughout the summer semester on Thursdays between 12:15 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. in JO 101 (Johannisstr. 4); online participation is possible as well. Zoom access details will be posted here on the day of each event.

The lecture series will begin with a talk about new quantitative technologies for capturing insects in their natural habitat by ZIN member Prof. Benjamin Risse on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at 12:15 pm.
