Lena Siepker on the success of a socio-economic transformation

In the newly published edited volume "Demokratie und Nachhaltigkeit," ZIN Jun. scholar Lena Siepker identifies the unequal distribution of engagement and participation in Germany as a key obstacle to a successful socio-ecological transformation. In her contribution, Siepker discusses criteria according to which participation differs and, building on this, outlines four approaches to solving the problem: promoting political equality, promoting the inclusiveness of civil society influence, promoting the responsiveness of political decision-makers, and promoting the integration of sustainability thinking into the common good.
