Project “Form your Future” trains young people to become sustainability ambassadors

Starting in autumn 2018, the laboratory MExLab ExperiMINTe of the WWU Münster carries out a project training students to become sustainability ambassadors. The project, funded by the German Federal Environmental Foundation (DBU) and the UNESCO-Global Action Program Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), is, among others, supported scientifically by the ZIN.

The project targets at young people who will independently research sustainability issues for a period of 15 months in the areas of atmosphere & climate change, water & soil and waste & recycling. Through carrying out experimental research themselves, the young people are expected to develop awareness for environment- and sustainability-related issues as well as work out and implement action perspectives. During this research process, the project includes scientists and associations from the environmental field in order to emphasize the practical relevance of the project. Following the research, the young people will develop a campaign strategy to reach out to the public as multipliers in order to create awareness for sustainability.

The ZIN supports the objective of the project. It will participate as an example of a practical research institution in the area of sustainability by providing expert knowledge.

Registration for participation is possible since 1 June 2018.
