Dr. Marianne Ravenstein was bid farewell on her retirement

(12.04.2018) After a career of 31 years at the University of Münster of which she was working 25 years at the Department of Communication (IfK), Dr. Marianne Ravenstein was bid farewell on her retirement on Tuesday, 10 April 2018 in an official ceremony in the Münster City Castle.

Not only as Prorector for Academic Affairs and Equal Opportunities Officer of the Münster University, Dr. Ravensteil has made lasting contributions for the University. As an Academic Councillor, Academic Senior Councillor and Director of the Department of Communication, she also significantly influenced the Department’s development during the past decades.

Dr. Marianne Ravenstein studied Journalism and Communication Science, Sociology and History at the LMU (Munich) and the WWU (Münster). In 1986, she completed her studies with a PhD on the first pilot project for cable television in Ludwigshaven/Vorderpfalz (Germany).
From 1989, she was working at the Department of Communication (at the time: Department of Journalism).

The IfK bids farewell to Marianne Ravenstein, expresses its gratitude to her great work and immense dedication for the Department and wishes her all the best for the future.
