Katja Sawinski has published a review article about the role of stomata, small pores on the leaf surface, in pathogen defense. The article "Guarding the green: Pathways to stomatal immunity" was accepted in the journal Molecular Plant Microbe Interactions. By comparing recent literature she could show that similar mechanisms of stomatal closure are triggered by pathogens and the drought hormone Abscisic acid. Münster, 18.02.13
Oliver Schüler, whose PhD thesis is supervised by the AG Böhmer and the AG Hemmersbach at the German Aerospace Center received a prestigious Spacelife fellowship. He will study pathways underlying gravitropism in plants using physiological and proteomic techniques. Münster, 13.12.12
A new protocol from a collaboration with the group of Prof. Klaus Harter (ZMBP, Uni Tübingen) for "Screening for in planta protein-protein interactions combining bimolecular fluorescence complementation with flow cytometry" was accepted in the journal "Plant Methods". It highlights a novel technology for the high throughput analysis of plant protein interaction. Table of contents
A new protocol book in the series "Methods in Molecular Biology" highlights protocols for the analysis of plant kinases. Our group contributed a protocol "Chemical genetic analysis of protein kinase function in plants" on isoform specific inhibition of kinase activity using chemical genetics followed by phosphoproteomic analysis.
