Buildings of the University of Münster to close after Wednesday

Additional measures to limit the spread of the coronavirus

The University of Münster (WWU) is taking further steps to slow down the spread of the novel coronavirus. Starting on Wednesday, 18 March at 6 pm, the buildings of the University will be open only to WWU employees including student and research assistants. “In view of the rapid increase of new cases of COVID-19 around the country, we have no choice but to implement further measures,” announced WWU Rector Prof. Dr. Johannes Wessels in a letter to members of the University.

The regulation applies to all WWU buildings including the University Library (ULB) and the departmental libraries. The Botanical Garden will also remain closed until further notice. Other rules may apply, however, to the buildings of the Faculty of Medicine belonging to the University Hospital Münster (UKM).

The University’s service departments can be reached as usual by phone and email. The building supervisors will provide further information for delivery drivers and tradespeople at the respective entrances.
