University of Münster strengthens cultural exchange between students
This week, students from all over the world take part in the fourth International Summer School "European Campus of Intercultural Perspectives" at the University of Münster. The students will study various aspects of intercultural competence and its importance for living in a globalized world. Students will analyse intercultural encounters, investigate causes of intercultural misunderstandings and try out strategies for intercultural communication and cooperation. Practical work in multicultural teams will encourage self-reflection and help them change perspective. In this way, students will further develop essential skills, from which they will also benefit later in their career.
This year, which marks the 30th anniversary of the twinning of Münster and the Russian city of Ryazan, there will be three students from our twin town among the international participants in the summer school. All participants will be welcomed on Monday, 28 August, by Mayor Wendela-Beate Vilhjalmsson in the Friedenssaal “Hall of Peace” in Münster’s town hall.
The Summer School is offered by the Institute of Ethnology and the International Office of the University of Münster in cooperation with “Ethnologie in Schule und Erwachsenenbildung e.V.”, and funded by Santander Universitäten.
