• Special call: WWU Internationalisation Fund – open call till 15 October

    In order to provide additional support for internationalisation in the currently challenging situation caused by the Corona pandemic, all funding schemes of the WWU Internationalisation Fund are now available for applications outside the specified deadlines.

    Special features of this call:
    Applications may be submitted for activities on campus, in digital form or in hybrid form.

    • WWU Fellowships can be used as bridging fellowships for international researchers already present at WWU.
    • As an exception to the Internationalisation Fund regulations, it is possible to apply for bridging WWU fellowships to support international doctoral candidates:
      • Funding of up to three months; 1,000 €/month
      • Co-funding by the host department is required (30% of the total scholarship amount)
      • funding scheme available till December 2020

    This open call ends with the next regular application deadline, on 15 October.

Münster University Internationalisation Fund

In its Internationalisation Strategy the University of Münster has defined strategic objectives to strengthen its international alignment. In this connection, the Rectorate makes funding available every year through the Internationalisation Fund in order to support or facilitate initiating international activities undertaken by departments, institutes and any other institutions at the University.

Use of funds

Allocations from the Internationalisation Fund can be used to finance measures or activities which serve to initiate or further develop international contacts. The Internationalisation Fund is divided into 5 funding lines:

  • 1. Initiation and intensification of partnerships

    Any initiation or intensification of international strategic partnerships, on the part of the entity making the application, which are aimed at promoting

    • the international mobility of students, academics/teachers and staff members as well as collaborative teaching and/or research projects
    • the internationalisation of teaching
    • internationalisation-at-home measures.

  • 2. Activities within Münster University’s strategic networks

    Any activities, on the part of the entity making the application, within Münster University’s strategic networks (e.g. China NRW)

  • 3. Stays at Münster University undertaken by researchers and teachers from abroad

  • 4. Organization of international conferences or congresses at Münster University

    • Subsidy towards the organisation of international conferences or congresses at Münster University

  • 5. Training measures on internationalisation

    • Subsidy towards any training on internationalisation (within Germany, preferably DAAD/iDA [de] and HRK)

Deadlines for applications are: 15. February / 15. June / 15. October
After completion of the activities being funded, a final report must be written: Final report

Resources will only be made available from the Internationalisation Fund if no regular funding is possible (e.g. from resources allocated to departments for start-up financing, resources from other central funds) or if third-party funding is available. This means that the following measures and activities CANNOT be financed through the Internationalisation Fund:
