Prof. Dr. Zeliha Öcek
Prof. Dr. Zeliha Öcek is Chair of Public Health and Health Services Research at the Faculty of Medicine, LMU Munich. She is specialized in public health, migration, and health inequalities. She currently teaches the Erasmus Blended Intensive Program “Understanding the Determinants of Migration Health Through Research Planning” at LMU. She is also a coordinator of the Network for Research on Migration and Health (NeRMiH), with a focus on migration and health.Her work on health inequalities highlights how migration trajectories shape access to healthcare and resilience strategies, how diasporic communities experience and negotiate health vulnerabilities, and how entitlements to health services reveal the practical boundaries of rights and belonging.
