Nicole Pilz was born in Bielefeld in 1978 and began to study ethnology at the Ruprecht-Karls-University of Heidelberg. She continued these studies in combination with the new minor fields of study ‘Studies of the Netherlands’ and ‘Public law’ at the Westfälische Wilhelms-University of Münster and graduated in 2009 with a M.A. Thesis on Louis Dumonts model of modern ideology. From 2007 to 2009, she worked as a student assistant at the graduate school „Zivilgesellschaftliche Verständigungsprozesse“.
