Sociologist Detlef Pollack analyses the perception and acceptance of religious diversity in Europe. How do the people in Europe look at non-Christian religions and religious communities? Under which conditions are religious pluralism as well as the members of various religious groups accepted respectively rejected? What are the individual and contextual factors that influence the willingness to religious tolerance and appreciation? These are some of the questions the present volume addresses on the basis of comparative analyses in five European countries.
