Im  Fachbereich Chemie und Pharmazie der Westfälischen Wilhelms-Universität Münster ist zum 01.10.2020 eine

Juniorprofessur (W1) für Chemie und Unternehmertum mit Tenure Track (W3)

für die Dauer von 3 Jahren, mit der Möglichkeit der Verlängerung um weitere 3 Jahre, zu besetzen.
Bei positiver Evaluierung erfolgt eine Verstetigung auf W3-Niveau.

Die W1-Professur wird gemeinschaftlich vom Fachbereich Chemie und Pharmazie, dem erfolgreich aus der Initiative „Exzellenz Start-up Center.NRW“ des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen hervorgegangenen Start-up Centers der Universität sowie der Wirtschaftswissenschaftlichen Fakultät getragen. Sie vertritt die Fachgebiete Entrepreneurship und Betriebswirtschaftslehre in den Naturwissenschaften in Forschung und Lehre und beschäftigt sich mit wissenschaftlichen Fragen zur Gründung, Entwicklung und zum Management von Unternehmen und Start-ups insbesondere in der Chemischen Industrie. Die W1-Professur für Chemie und Unternehmertum ist dem Institut für Betriebswirtschaftliches Management im Fachbereich Chemie und Pharmazie zugeordnet. Im Falle der Verstetigung wird mittelfristig die Übernahme der Institutsleitung erwartet.

Voraussetzung für die Bewerbung sind ein Hochschulstudium sowie wissenschaftliche Leistungen, die im Rahmen einer Promotion und einer nachfolgenden Weiterqualifikation im Rahmen einer wissenschaftlichen Tätigkeit an einer Hochschule, einer Forschungseinrichtung oder der Wirtschaft im In- oder Ausland erbracht wurden. Eine nachweisbare interdisziplinäre Qualifikation in den Bereichen Chemie und Unternehmertum (favorisiert im Fach Wirtschaftschemie oder im Kontext von Unternehmensgründungen), sowie die Bereitschaft zur Vernetzung innerhalb des Fachbereichs Chemie und Pharmazie, mit dem Exzellenz Start-up Center und der Wirtschaftswissenschaftlichen Fakultät werden erwartet. Erfahrungen in der Lehre, in internationalen Forschungsprojekten sowie in der Akquise von Forschungsmitteln sind erwünscht.

The Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy at the University of Münster (WWU), Germany, invites applications for the position of an

Assistant professorship (W1) for chemistry and entrepreneurship with tenure track (W3)

for a duration of 3 years with the possibility of a three-year extension. Upon positive evaluation, the appointee will receive a permanent W3-level position.

The assistant professorship (W1) is jointly created by the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy, the Start-up Centre of the University of Münster, which was established under the “Excellence Start-up Centre.NRW” initiative of the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia, and the School of Business and Economics. The position covers the subjects of entrepreneurship and business administration in the natural sciences in both research and teaching, and it addresses research questions associated with the creation, development and management of firms and new ventures in the chemical industry. The assistant professorship (W1) is formally positioned at the Institute of Business Administration at the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy. In case of tenure, it is expected that the management of the institute will be taken over in the medium term.

Prerequisite for the application are scientific achievements earned during doctoral studies and a subsequent post-doctoral qualification at a university, a research institute or in industry nationally or internationally. An interdisciplinary qualification in chemistry and entrepreneurship (favoured in the topics of business chemistry or business start-ups) as well as the ability to create a network within the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy, the Excellence Start-up Centre, and the School of Business and Economics are expected. Experiences in teaching, in international research projects as well in securing research income are desirable.
