The Institute for Theoretical Physics at the University of Münster invites applications for a full-time, initially two-year position as
(Salary Scale TV-L 13)
in the group of Prof. M. Klasen. Other permanent scientists in the institute include Prof. J. Heitger, PD Dr. K. Kovarik and Prof. A. Kulesza. The focus area “Particle Physics” includes also experimental groups (ALICE, BESIII, IceCube, KATRIN, and XENON1T) in the neighboring Institute for Nuclear Physics. The appointment will start on October 1, 2020 or later. The teaching duty is four hours per week.
Tasks include active participation in research and teaching in the fields of theoretical nuclear, particle, or astroparticle physics, in particular within the scope of the DFG Research Training Group “Strong and weak interactions - from hadrons to dark matter” as well as the BMBF focus area “Elementary particle physics with the CMS experiment and theoretical studies of processes at the LHC.” The prerequisite for this appointment is a Ph.D. degree in theoretical physics.
