Professorship in Experimental Physics
(salary scale W2)
in the area of materials science

starting at the earliest convenience.

Candidates are expected to have a strong track record in the field of materials physics. The range of activities should strengthen and extend existing activities at the Institute of Materials Physics and the Faculty of Physics of the University of Münster in the areas of material physics and nanophysics. Desired focal points of research are in the analysis of processes in materials physics with innovative methods, e.g. with advanced transmission electron microscopy-based methods. Participation in additional research fields within the Faculty of Physics as well as active contributions to existing interdisciplinary research structures (e.g. CeNTech, SoN or CiM) and their advancement are explicitly welcome. Teaching obligations are in the areas of experimental physics and materials physics. Candidates are also expected to participate in the academic administration of the University. Proven teaching experience in materials physics is particularly desired.

Qualifications include university undergraduate and doctoral degrees, good teaching skills, and academic achievements made as a Juniorprofessor (assistant professor), in a Habilitation (postdoctoral qualification), as a member of the academic staff of a university or non-university research institute, or in a research position in business, industry, administration or other relevant fields in Germany or abroad.
