The Transfer Prize promoted the development of transfer-related activities and/or the public presentation of knowledge-transfer achievements. The award came with 20,000 euros in prize money.
The Transfer Prize was awarded to members of the University who were collaborating or have successfully collaborated with partners in the non-university sector. Such non-university partners included businesses, regional authorities, associations, unions, political parties and churches. Entrepreneurs from the University of Münster who cooperated with their former faculties or institutes during the start-up phase were also eligible to receive the prize.
The Rectorate was responsible for selecting the finalist on the recommendation of the Economic Advisory Panel of the Research Transfer Office. The award ceremony was held during a special session of the Economic Advisory Panel of the Research Transfer Office.
