Measuring the dispersion of g'-precipitates in a g'-strengthened
superalloy by atomic force microscopy

Investigations of the applicability of atomic force microscopy to metallographic problems have been continued. The size (100nm) and volume fraction (0.06) of g'-precipitates in the commercial g'-strengthened superalloy NIMONIC PE16 have been accurately measured. Moreover the shape of dislocation etch pits on the surfaces of LiF has been studied.
