Epileptische Entladungen einzelner Neurone zeigen ein stereotypes Muster. Diese sog. paroxysmale Depolarisation ist auf eine Folge verschiedener transmembranöser Ionenströme zurückzuführen. Die Elementarmechanismen dieser membranphysiologischen Prozesse wurden weiter analysiert.
