Corrective feedback in ASR-based computer-assisted pronunciation training (CAPT) programmes 

The purpose of my study is to assess the pedagogical effectiveness of ASR-based CAPT programmes that provide individualised corrective feedback for Russian adult beginner learners of English. The study will attempt to find out whether using a specially developed CAPT system can improve the learners’ segmental quality and whether it can be accredited to individualised corrective feedback. This will not only inform the development of language learning software but also make an empirical and theoretical contribution in the field of SLA.
