Institute and lecture visits

You are cordially invited to visit the institutes or laboratories with your school class or course and find out about the research being conducted there. Of course, you can also attend a lecture during this visit to get an insight into the everyday life of a student. The lectures “Physics 1” and “Physics 2” are ideal for this. If you are interested or have any questions, please contact Physikstudium@uni-muenster.de. We will be happy to help you with the organisation.

Course catalogue

In contrast to school, students have the opportunity to choose from a variety of courses when they begin their studies. To get an overview of the courses offered in your own department, all lectures, seminars and practical courses are summarised in the course catalogue. There you can find all the necessary information on the respective courses, such as course times or the workload to be completed.

Enrolment

This is the real first step towards studying: enrolment or matriculation. This can be done online. A distinction is made between degree programmes with restricted admissions and those with open admissions, whereby a longer deadline is set for the latter.

Internship at the Department of Physics

Another possibility to get to know one of the institutes or the everyday life of a student is an internship. You can find more information about this and the application on the websites of Schulbüro [de]

Everyday life at university

Starting university brings many changes for most first-year students. Even though you will continue to attend courses, they will be very different from those you attended at school. Under everyday study life you will find a description of the events that you can expect in the first semesters.

Life in Münster

For many students, the start of their studies marks the beginning of a completely new chapter in their lives. Not only is school replaced by university, the move also changes everyday life. On this website you can find out about possible accommodation and activities in Münster.
