The research group works in the field of nuclear, particle and astroparticle physics. The two main projects of the working group are the neutrino mass experiment KATRIN at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and the search for dark matter with the XENONnT experiment at the Italian underground laboratory LNGS and its successor DARWIN/XLZD, for which we are developing new technologies within the ERC Advanced Grant project LowRad.
We also apply our detector, high-voltage and extreme purity technologies to various projects with highly charged ions in the SPARC collaboration at GSI/FAIR, and to the development of a novel detector for medical imaging in the BOLD-PET project.
