In this seminar, we will deal with the question of ‘what is sociology?’ on the basis of the same-titled book of Norbert Elias. The subject matter of sociology, its function and its relationship to other social sciences will be extensively discussed.
One of the aims of this seminar is the strengthening of the process-sociological way of thinking towards the perception of the existence of interdependent links and figurations which human beings form with each other.
