Comments

Basic conflict management competences are the purpose of this seminar. The students will discover different conflict process steps as well as different conflict intervention methods.

Description

The seminar provides a step by step reflection of the whole conflict process. During the seminar the students review all steps of the conflict process and conflict management. The students will have a closer look on the genesis, development and arbitration of conflicts. In the final seminar phase the theoretical knowledge will be transferred to practice by the example of lifelike conflict simulations.

Key issues of the seminar are:

  • general principles of conflicts
  • escalation and de-escalation
  • conflict analysis and exploratory meetings
  • conflict factors and conflict multiplier
  • conflict types and conflict intervention
  • conflict management methods (non-violent communication, Harvard-Model, mediation)
Prerequisites

It is no special preparation or previous knowledge necessary; all relevant contents will be developed during the seminar.

Certificates

The certificate of performance requires:

  • participation at all practical simulations
  • written examination on the contents
Learning Content

The seminar shall enable participants to recognize and analyze different conflict matters. Next to this the participants shall be enabled to apply appropriate conflict management methods to develop a sustainable solution of the conflicts.
