This seminar offers a basic introduction into contemporary developments in the sociology of reli-gion, such as new developments of the secularity hypothesis (e.g., Berger), religious individualiza-tion (e.g., Luckmann), religious market place (e.g., Iannoccone), and globalization of religion by text reading, presentations by students, and discussions in the seminar (in English). The seminar is primarily offered to international students and sociology students of the first se-mesters, but also to sociology students of higher semesters, who want to express their knowledge in English. Literature is going to be announced at the beginning of the seminar. |
