Description

Masterkurs: European Environmental Politics

Dozent: Dr. Ulrich Hamenstädt

The EU is one of the leading actors on the international stage in facing the problems of global climate change. The course aims to give a general understanding on climate change and the scientific debate about it. Starting from the level of international negotiations the course takes a closer look on the impact of the Kyoto protocol and the EU ETS scheme for carbon emission trading. Within the course we will also discuss the importance of the rising powers in East Asia for the global eco-system.

The course will start at the beginning of June. It contains lectures and group works. All students have to prepare the readings listed on the syllabus. All readings and the presentations of the lecture will be available on the BSCW server system of the University of Muenster, soon as the course gets started. Some of the group works will be organized by the students themselves.
