Literary Studies

Staff research interests in literary studies at the INP cover literature of the 20th and 21th centuries, (narratological) literary analysis, genre studies (especially autobiography and autofiction, historical novels and travel writing), studies in cultural transfer (intra- and intercultural exchange; Netherlands, Flanders and Germany), travel literature of the 19th century and translation studies (translation and reception, German translations of Dutch literature).

The Graduate Schools and Research Training Groups offer Phd-programmes for literary studies of all languages taught and studied at the WWU. The Graduate School “Practices of Literature” focuses on the relation between literature/literary studies and society. The Research Training Group “Literary Form” discusses questions about literary forms and models.
