WWU Graduate Centre's programme

The WWU Graduate Centre offers a tailored qualification programme with courses and workshops for all doctoral candidates and postdocs. The programme is designed to meet the demands and needs of academic as well as non-academic career development. This site only lists events in English, in particular those that are relevant for international doctoral candidates. Further events may be found on our programme website.

Kick-Off Welcome Meetings

We organise a welcome evening for first year international doctoral candidates twice a year, with the purpose of informing them about the University of Münster and the Graduate Centre. Participants can ask their questions and get to know fellow doctoral candidates.

Cultural and Social Activities

The Graduate Centre organises a wide range of different cultural and social activities for international doctoral candidates and postdocs. Among these are guided city walks, cycling tours in summer and theatre visits. The idea is to allow early stage researchers to get to know the city and to build social networks.

Intercultural Lunch

Besides the Cultural Evenings organised by doctoral candidates, we host an intercultural lunch once a year. Participants have the chance to discuss a topic that is relevant to mobile early stage researchers in a relaxed atmosphere. Although we provide some snacks and drinks, participants are very welcome to contribute with some traditional snacks that they want to share with others.

International Tea Time

We would like to establish a meeting for International and German PhD's to meet once a month! What do we do? FAQs, explore the city on our own terms, have discussions or talk about your thesis topics. It should be a casual get together for everyone to connect and exchange ideas.

Where do we meet? The meeting will start at the Graduate Centre and from there we will get to a nice Café or whatever next we have planned.

Next Meeting: July 14th, 4-6pm
