Support for Female Academics
Supporting female academics is a central gender equality objective of the WWU (Cf. Genderkonzept) since the WWU statistics indicate that the number of female employees is still lower than the one of male employees, in particular in higher positions within academia.
The WWU's office for Gender Equality thus seeks to tackle and reduce this hierarchical gender segregation in the field of academic career. In particular it aims at increasing the number of young females in academia: PhDs, postdocs, junior professors, and leaders of junior research groups.
