Abstract: Hecke algebras are an important tool to study smooth representations of p-adic reductive groups. This is particularly true for example when considering complex representations; however, when studying the "opposite" situation - mod p representations - more difficulties arise, and Hecke algebras should be replaced with more complicated objects.
In this setting the "Ext" algebra, introduced by Ollivier and Schneider, is a natural object to consider, and in view of the importance that the Bernstein centre has in this kind of theories, it might be interesting to know what is the centre of such algebra.
In this talk, I will be giving an overview of these topics and I will be reporting my partial results on the centre, stating in particular what it looks like for the group SL2 and - in general - what is its degree 0 part.
