Strongly reduced components of module varieties were introduced by C. Geiss, B. Leclerc and J. Schröer to construct bases of certain cluster algebras. In my talk, I will dene what the strongly reduced components of a module variety are, and I present a result of P.-G. Plamondon, which shows that the set of strongly reduced components associated to a nite-dimensional algebra A over an algebraically closed eld of characteristic zero, given by a quiver with relations, can be parametrized by the Grothendieck group of proj(A).
