There are various types of differential geometric structures which involve the quaternions and two in particular which have received attention over the years: hyperk\"ahler geometry and quaternionic K\"ahler geometry. A result of A.Haydys links the two and the talk will discuss this link via complex geometry and view some applications to moduli spaces related to gauge-theoretical problems
